some random things.... Mission Of Burma: "Signals EP", "Forget" (cannot say enough good things about this band) Coltrane: "Blue Train" among others Prince: "1999" (not as good as expected, but still looking forward to hearing more) CCR: self-titled Polvo: "Today's Active Lifestyles"
Anyone hear the debut album by Bygones yet? Not that it's out yet but I think it's leaked.

Best Prince albums to listen to are Sign O' The Times, Parade, Lovesexy and Dirty Mind. Around the World in a Day is pretty great too. Avoid Batman onwards. Some of the early stuff (Prince, For You) is wonderful if you can handle the heavy Stevie Wonder/Sly Stone influences (I can).

I can honestly swear by Dirty Mind, Controversy, 1999, The Black Album and Sign of the Times as the best Prince albums. The production on those early albums...oooeeeeee! Everything else (except Purple Rain & s/t) is awful. Prince fell off hard as a muthafucka.

Irish grindcore-ish band called I'll eat your face. Damn fine drumming.

Irish grindcore-ish band called I'll eat your face. Damn fine drumming. Very nice recommendation! I myself have been listening to a lot of excellent '60s psychedelic pop lately: SRC, Beauregard Ajax, The End, Tomorrow, The Zombies, etc.

I'm listening to "Motown" by Harvey Milk, from the very excellent album "Life... The best game in town" and "Thriller" by Part Chimp.

Orchestre Tout Pouissant Marcel Duchamp Guitar, double bass, drums, violin, marimba, trombone and vocals. No point trying to categorize them, they're just brilliant. myspace.com/orchestretoutpuissantmarcelduchamp
