I'm sure we have quite a few beer drinkers on here. I know I'm a huge fan.
Let's talk about beer!
What I've been into lately:
*Blue Moon - love this stuff... kind of sweet
*Guiness - a fucking standard!
*Saint Arnold Brown - this comes from a local microbrewery here in texas. if you ever get a chance to try some St. Arnold... don't pass it up!
*Newcastle - I like this really cold! yummy
*Flying Dog - brewed out of Colorado... they have several types of beers, including a pale ale. The ones I've had are nice and hoppy!
*Sierra Nevada Pale Ale - once again... really hoppy. I've been drinking this for years. It's a staple for me.

I was drinking a fair amount of Guinness last year when i was in Ireland, it's definately not the same else where. Also Heineken isn't bad, Victoria Bitter, Crown Lager... Australian stuff that i'm sure no-one here has heard of. Import beers are too expensive here generally speaking.

BTW, any Dutch here? When I was there, I noticed that Heineken was VASTLY different!

dutch gold, seriously good and cheap, jupiler which i got in belgium was also good and cheap and it's the only time i've seen beer sold in plastic bottles. strong european beers like stella artois and grolsch are the business as far as lagers such are concerned. american beer sucks arse apart from michelob (if that's american) the heineken in holland is too sweet, also in ireland unless it's from a can. lidl (cheap european supermarket chain) premium pils is fantastic. high percentage, great taste, big bottles, cheap. the best pint of guinness in the world is the best pint of anything. after beers, neat vodka, absinthe, scotch, czheck moonshine, buckfast tonic wine.......... i'm going to stop now. i need a drink.

Yeh vb is where it's at, i managed to get hold of some in Belfast too. I was very impressed there. Fosters is definitely cats piss and no body here drinks it. There was some shit Belgium beer i recall trying called Hackenberg or something which i would have to put on the avoid list along with fosters and Budweiser. That cheap Buckfast shit brings back some bad memories.

dutch gold still reigns supreme for cheap beer in ireland although tuborg (the beer of dutch kings, according to nightclub owner moe szyslak) is gaining in popularity. hackenburg is common but not popular. bu6ckfast fucking rules

Just don't drink Buckfast before a Battles gig. It was my first time trying that stuff and i wasn't aware about the perils involved.

the thing with buckfast in ireland is that it's a different version in northen ireland than the one in the republic. the northern stuff is a differnt colour and the numbers go to 25 or something like that as opposed to only going as high as 14 down here. tha difference in taste is huge. on another note, has anyone ever taken painkillers before going to bed after drinking to prevent a hangover? the fist time i did this it was only because i had a toothache and it worked very well. i tried it again last night, but i took four tablets instead of one or two and i felt like crap till about five o'clock this evening.

Yep, pretty big beer fan myself. Right now I'm readying some 2003 Rogue Old Crustacean (aged in my cellar for 3 years), one of my all-time favorite beers. I'm a huge fan of Barleywines in general, though. A few days ago I had some 2004 Dominion Oak Barrel Aged Millenium that was incredible. Also, I'm pleased to report that I found some Great Divide Old Ruffian at my local bottle shop, along with the 2006 release of Sierra Nevada's Bigfoot. The 2006 Bigfoot completes my collection, so to speak, as I am planning a vertical tasting here in the next few of weeks consisting of 5 consecutive years, 2002-2006. The 2002 bottle of Bigfoot is the oldest bottle I have right now that I've aged myself (socked away 4 years ago, doesn't seem like that long!). Other than that, I've been really enjoying the Bell's Batch 7000, which is a very tasty Imperial Stout, and the 12% abv. certainly helps take the chill out of those cold winter nights. I also have to put in a quick recommendation for you West Coasters, the Moylan's Hopsickle Imperial IPA is amazingly good. I actually take notes on the different beers I track down and consume. If anyone is interested, they're here: www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=367I'm up to a little over 1400 ratings now, which is not too bad considering that where I live is not exactly a beer Mecca...

I'll never understand why people like to drink All that happens to me is I get warm all over, and then feel the need to destroy whatever gets near me unhealthy
