Does anyone know of an online source of information for sales of albums? I know Billboard has hit charts, but what if you want to know the sales numbers for an album by Don Cab, or Melvins, or whatever (bands that don't make the Billboard top hits charts)?

Music sales are tracked by SoundScan: www.soundscan.com/Unfortunately, it's a subscription service. Nielsen is very protective of their sales numbers, so I doubt you'll find any info posted on-line beyond very broad reports like Billboard's Top 10 lists.

with smaller labels, sometimes its fairly easy to determine how many cd runs they do, for instance i think don caballero 2 did a 10k run initially and its been repressed once...but you'd have to find out by calling a label and asking, im sure a lot of labels like touch and go, load, jade tree et al wouldnt have a problem with letting go of that sort of info...
