Just wondering how many musicians we have on here and what you guys play. I've been playing guitar for 3 and a half years and alto saxophone for about 6 months. Oh yeah and post links to mp3's if you have them, i have some guitar but there just samples of me playing wanky solo stuff ala Yngwie Malmsteen etc, i'll record something tasteful when my preamp starts working again.

I play guitar and sing, and play drums . . . sort of. I do play the drums, just not very well.

Tuba for 7 years, but I don't like to play it so I'm out of practice. I'm still pretty good at it.
Bass guitar for 2 years, and I'm pretty good, but my talent is unfocused so I'm pretty useless.
Guitar for about half a year, and I'm meh. I'm still learning a lot of basics, I hope to get better in time, through practicing frequently.

Playing drums and guitar for 12 years, but I never took lessons in either, which is a pity because I probably could be a lot better now if I had.

I play guitar, drums, bass, piano/keyboards, steel drums, harmonica, misc. percussion, just whatever really. Guitar is my main instrument though. I've been playing for about 10 years. I've been in bands for about 6 or 7 years now. I'm in a local Houston band right now... we have mp3's on mp3.com. The band name is Sjolander... I'm happy for the most part with it! I went to college on music scholarship for 2 1/2 years. Man, I should write a book.... ha!

Actually, I just remembered that I'm an old fart. I turned 27 last week and since I've been attempting to play drums and guitar since I was 13, which means I'm up to 14 years.
Honestly, this is a very depressing moment for me, since I really am not very good at either. I spend my time playing along to other band's music and there are kids playing for 5 years that wipe the fucking floor with me.

I have been playing the drums for about 6 years now. I have been playing guitar for about 8. I am in a band called Wyndham Earle. We are from Fort Worth, but I live in San Antonio now so practicing is difficult. Don Cab is a big influence. I maybe able to send out CD's if I can find copies. Go to wyndhamearle.tripod.com It's a bad website but there are some mp3's. We are a 2 piece. Drums and Guitar. Give it a listen and let me know what you think.

I listened to Quone and Stan's Favourite by Wyndham Earle and i think you sound really good, shame how your finding it hard to practice, if you're able to send out any CD's i'd be interested. Sjolander were good as well, He-man is a good song, the slowdown half way through is a nice touch.

"Wyndham Earle" - man that brings back memories of some pretty weird-ass episodes of Twin Peaks...

My entire life has been spent playing instruments alongside a group of friends. All of my friends are musicians, and there has always been someone better than I. When I first started... my friend passed me up (in skill) like the first week he was playing. And I had been playing for months. It always ends up that one of my friends is a fucking badass... It makes me want to quit all of the time.... But that's not an option... So, I deal with it. It sux... I can relate man.. (:: sob :: :: sob heh...

I've been a drummer for about 17 years, but I don't really play that much anymore since I switched to being a recording engineer for the last five years. I mainly stopped playing because I developed this strange attitude in which I didn't want to play in a band unless it was, like, groundbreaking shit from another planet that was totally new and sounded like nothing else. I actually realized this dream for a brief period of time with a guitar and bass player, and upon listening to recordings of our songs, it was decided that our material was utterly unlistenable by anyone other than the people in the band. I know, I know, I understand that "you-should-do-it-for-yourself-and-no-one-else" indie-rock mentality, but shit, I can't spend the rest of my life making an averange annual income of $0.00 making music that sounds like someone threw a drumkit down a flight of stairs. We spent A LOT of time working up our material. That band broke up in '99 and I'm STILL burned out, so fuck it.

I wish I had the motivation, devotion, technique, and massive amounts of free time to do something like that.

Hey, thanks for the links, your music is very good. I really enjoyed the guitar solo; 'forever' and the 'passing fantasies' duet. I'll look out for your album.
