AAAHHHHH!!!!!
So Monitor has released an MP3 compiling, I guess the Battles ep. However it's remixed by some Baltimore DJ who TALKS OVER THE WHOLE FUCKING THING!!!!!
What I can make out sounds good, but I am jonesin to hear this band REALLY bad and you can barely make any of the songs out.
The capper, it won't be release until a YEAR FROM NOW.
UGH

Wow, that is annoying. Still very cool, though. I think, however, that by winter 2004 they mean January/February, so we hopefully won't have to wait that long. Man, this sounds great! (With the exception of the DJ, of course.)

A few weeks ago I e-mailed Battles (through thier website) and asked about the EPs that are rumoured to be coming out and this is what they responded to me with...
"Battles is currently working on 2 albums and a 7" single for release in early 2004. Of the albums, one will be released by Monitor Records (from Baltimore) in compact disc format, and the other will be released by Dim Mak Records (from Los Angeles) in compact disc and 12" format. Coldsweat Records (also from LA) will be releasing the 7" single, which will also be released on a Coldsweat Records compilation cd in the future. We are trying to sync up these albums to be released around the same time, however, we do not have definite release dates at this juncture, for we are in the mixing/mastering stages of production. Right now, it's looking like February/March, but we'll post the actual dates on the site once we get them. Thank you for your interests and we can assure you it will not be long before you will have a Battles album in your hands. Take care, I,D,T & J> bttls"
I heard the MP3 on the Monitor website, that shit sounds fucking awesome!! (when you can hear it inbetween that DJ talking, it's cool though, he's just hyping that shit!!). I can't wait for these albums to come out.

I can't get over how much some of this stuff sounds like trans am though . . . although I love trans am, so I guess it's all good.

Yeah, listening to that DJ starts off as funny. Pretty much at the 3 minute mark I was hoping for a heart attack or stroke. For him. Damn. I just checked out the bttls site and saw they're playing their first Japanese show with the Mars fucking Volta. God damn. I think I can fit inside a suitcase.

Is this guy friends with Battles? I guess because he got a hold of their music somehow. The music sounds good, but the DJ sounds wiggity whack.
