Alright, the new tour dates have got Battles playing the Shelter in Detroit on July 9. Didn't they just play there last Tuesday, June 15, or was that cancelled because of the big basketball game that happened that same night?

they played in front of about ten people, honestly i think the two people i came with and myself were the only ones who weren't in one of the opening bands. it was a great show other than the relatively short set they played, the $4.50 bottles of killians, and two shitty opening bands. battles did rock though and i will be back to see them on the 9th. i got a kick out of my friend telling ian how he loved his work in high fidelity.

It's hilarious how I read about Battles and Don Caballero playing in front of a dozen people on this board, and then when I go see shows in Brooklyn it's a packed house.
On another note, the first guy that opened in Brooklyn, Dirty Projectors, was really really great. Nothing like Battles, but it was really an awesome performance and I'm glad I was able to make it, it probably would've been worth going to see him alone. The second opening band was a side project of members of Black Dice and Animal Collective, they sounded like what you'd expect them to, it was good but a little drawn out, they didn't play for too long though so it was pretty good.
