and I must say it is perhaps the neatest thing ever. I've never used a synthe before and there are so many possibilities. Does anyone else here have a microkorg or any other synthes? Thoughts? Recordings?

i got a loan of a korg ms 2000 a few months ago and a microkorg more recently and i have to say after using the ms 2000 for the microkrog isn't half as good. the only good thing about it is the microness, otherwise i think it's failry weak.

i've got an old yamaha synth...the AN-200. it's sort of an all in one synth/drum machine. i like it quite a bit, but mostly use software synths. you can check out some recordings at www.soundclick.com/blueonblue (sorry if the link is redundant, can't remember what's in my sig).

Awesome. I will check out the samples soon. I don't know what you're talking about when you say the microkorg isn't that good. Maybe it's because I haven't ever used any other synthes so I have nothing to compare it to, but I think it is amazing.

the only other synths i've used are the ms2000 and a few native instruments softsynths. there's a free NI synth called soundforum synth. i don't know if you can still get it from the NI site, but it's a fully functioning synth, not just a demo, so it's well worth getting as it's not even a very big download.

also, if you're interested in soft synths, check out kvraudio.com - they've got a massive database of software instruments and FX, many of which are free.
