Someone (not me, honest) recently posted a YouTube video of themselves playing a Don Cab song ("And And And He Lowered The Twins"): www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELI5uGaRco8I find these great to couple up with guitar tab, so I was planning on doing a video for some of the songs I've tabbed on Don Fanallero (probably starting with Stupid Puma). However for a variety of annoying reasons I'm not going to be able to do this for a few months. In the meantime, anyone else want to do some vids? Post the link here when you upload it and I'll link to it on the fan site. If you don't feel like doing a whole song, just take a crack at some of the harder riffs that you know, and that would be cool. And don't feel like you have to just do guitar - if you're able to pull off the drum solo in "Delivering the Groceries..." then get that on camera now! One thing. Please do something different in your vids. There are a billion guitar cover vids on YouTube, all basically the same. C'mon, be creative people! Think of ways to make your vid more unique! For example, here's someone who made their death metal drum vid seriously funny (and got 3 million hits because of it): www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJJHk4hSFB4I'm pretty sure the band Suffocation was thankful for the 3 million listens to their song...

I think I'll take you up on the "Delivering the Groceries" challenge. I can play a slightly different version of the solo, as heard in one of the live versions of the song I came across. When I heard it that time, it was the first time the beat really stood out to me so I went ahead and learned it that way. Should be just a matter of studying the album version intensely for a few days to work that one out since it's not terribly different. EDIT: I actually found an old video containing one of my early attempts at the solo. Like I said above, this really isn't accurate to the album but the idea is there. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFce4KlM9OgI'll record a new video this weekend or sometime next week featuring a few different Don Cab parts.

Gah!! I've been playing it wrong all along! For ten years I thought he was hitting the aux snare on 2 and 4, and everything else on the main snare with a bit of floor tom in there, but it's the other way around!!! Fuck, now I gotta relearn it!
I can play the "Mmm Acting" solo just fine though. Maybe I'll post a video.

as promise , guitar session on "ones all over the place "...sry i didn't try to be creative or funny Very nice. It holds up nicely, just the guitar parts, even without the drums or bass. Well played; well done.

Wow, great job - thanks for posting that; I've wanted to learn that guitar part since forever and that vid really helped. Maybe I'll do a video of me recording that loop on my pedal then climbing behind the drumset to play along with it. I'll try some other tunes that work well like that too. If you know any more guitar parts from American Don, I'd love to see/hear them (Afro Pop maybe? )

I'm glad that someone is taking that Fire Back tab and making it happen. Sounds great and it's good to see ones efforts realized by another and taken to the next level. I worked hard on it truly. Fire Back always has stuck out to me. It's the first DC song I ever heard and it has sparked a love affair that has spanned for years. It always gives me a sense of hope whenever I hear that song. Even after what must be hundreds of times. Keep up the good work guys. I'm enjoying this thread. Keep it going. Hello Brian! Til' next time gents cheers

just true!!! im from La Roche sur Yon ... it's like 3 hours drive from bordeaux , and yes my username is ( still ) "william Ayache" ... last weekend was "fete de la musique" in france , every 21 june, there is a lot of bands playing in the streets and we played in a park three doncaballero tracks, we did fireback , peter criss jazz and ones all over the place. I was playing guitar and a friend of mine was on drum. Unfortunately , we finished the set with fireback and i managed to forget the time signature , i started playing 8-4 when it was 7-4... it was a proper mess , really so we stopped and tried it again but same shit , i was just unable to play on 7-4, it seemed impossible... cause i was a little bit nervous , and my mate was playing at very high tempo ^^... it was funny , people were laughing haha. but we finally succeed what a challenge! I also posted another video on youtube
