I randomly picked up 81 Mulberry's 1997 self-titled double 7" years ago in Northampton based on the cover art. Weird sort of post-emo math rock a la Polvo, who they happen to share the hometown of Chapel Hill with. Here are the three most interesting tracks from 81 Mulberry [1997 / Chapel Hill]. A1: "Hang On Tightly" A2: "The Idea of Peter North B1: "Bomb to Survive"

Years later I found an earlier release—1992's Saf-T-Hot Glass Lined 7"—in the same record store. It was much straighter indie rock / emo and not nearly as interesting. Live at the Trash Halloween Ball, 8/30/93 @ Local 506, Chapel Hill (from Live Around Town: Episode 1) • [song 1] • [song 2]
