Worst album title of all time, though I'm very happy for this new album!

Yeah, what is up with these album titles lately? Occurs to me there is quite a bit of American Don in this tracklist.

I was there! Damn, that was a good show. Glad to see Damon could still play with fire like that in 2006. He couldn't play like that anymore in 2008-09. I hope the live album is good. I'm expecting my black vinyl copy to arrive within the next 2 weeks.

Alright, hate to brag, but I've got the new live album. A local record store had a used (!!?!) copy of the CD. I gave them some money and they gave me the CD, and now it's mine. Quite by conicidence, last night I fell asleep listening to the album that the Constantines were promoting when they toured with Don Cab; and according to my spreadsheet, this Don Cab live CD is the 1000th physical release to join my music collection. Sychronicity is real, bitchez, and I ain't talking about the Police album. My review is forthcoming, but I'll give you one spoiler: "Don Cab 3" isn't the whole song; it's just the coda.

I got my digital download code today for the whole album, expecting my Limited edition "Bone" colored vinyl some time in the next weeks, gave the mp3 a play quickly earlier today, but was busy doing stuff with my son at the same time so was not really listening, i liked it, was a bit sad that Don Cab 3 was not the full song, same for Desk to Elsewhere, jut the coda part.
Quite liked the Let's Face It Pal/Afro-Pop medley, but again i would have taken a bit more of let's face it pal, before they switch to AfroPop. sound is okay, a bootleg with a decent mastering done to it, but nothing stellar, but this being the MP3, i will wait until i hear the vinyl version before i make my mind on that one.
I am planning on going for a walk later on tonight, with my good studio headphones and a fatty Kush Joint rolled up, give it a proper spin and give you guys a proper feedback... more to come!!

My black vinyl copy arrived yesterday along with a purple Joyful Noise sampler cassette and a piece of Now & Later apple taffy. This probably isn't the type of album that's going to sound significantly better on vinyl so I don't know if I'm going to take it out of its shrinkwrap, or even hold onto it for that much longer since I was lucky enough to find the CD version two weeks before its official release.
My review of the CD: It's good. It's just good enough to justify its own existence, but just barely. I think the sound quality is better than any of the other live recordings floating around out there. It doesn't feature as many songs as the popular Cleveland recording from the same tour, but it does have more than they played when I saw them in Kalamazoo (1.5 songs).
The performance starts out a little rough but things start cooking around track 3. "Charging Bull" for the first time struck me as a very "funny" song, and this version of "Delivering the Groceries" is one of the best I've heard. I have to say once again, though, that I don't like that "medley" nonsense either and wish they'd either play the whole song or not play any of it at all.
It's not a historic recording by any means, but it's something to keep Don Caballero alive in the public consciousness after 3 years of inactivity. And hey, if you read this far, that means you already pre-ordered the album weeks ago anyway.

I received my copy yesterday.
I like it. On first listen the sound quality is better than most bootlegs I've heard though the drums are mixed surprisingly low. I saw that the liner notes say they are unsure when and where this show was recorded although they think it was in Chicago in 2003. Wasn't there a show at The Note at 1565 N. Milwaukee Ave. (now called the Flat Iron) in May or June 2003? I think I was there. I might even have the ticket stub laying around somewhere. Was anyone else there? Can anyone verify this?
Now I'm off to perform handwriting analysis on Damon's signature.

Check that. It looks like the show at The Note was from 2006. I'm not sure about this show. They played the Empty Bottle in March 2004. I was at this show. It was the first time I saw them. I can't remember any tours or shows in Chicago from 2003. The '00s are kind of a blur for me. Maybe it was a "secret show". I'm still interested in finding out the exact date and location for this recording.

They played the Empty Bottle on November 6, 2003. I figure this live album came from that show because the setlist is similar to that of the recording from Cleveland 11/2/03.

not that i know of, been quiet on their side of things since the release of the record, and even then they didn't do much apprt from a few post on the facebook page...Joyful noise did pretty much all the press and stuff....
hopefully some new stuff will come out, without vocals would be great..
