Some of you might know Karl Hendricks. I’ve known Karl for well over half of my life. We even played in our first band together! He is from that community of people crazy enough to have devoted most of their life to music, either through playing it or through selling records. He’s made records for Merge and other indie labels, plus runs the best record store in Pittsburgh.

He’s recovering from cancer right now and he and his family need financial help. That same community of people who have also dedicated their lives to the crazy pursuit of music should be able to recognize one of their own when they need help, and contribute to this online fundraiser!

Karl Hendricks died this morning. He was one of the first people I met when I lived in Pittsburgh (Ian W introduced me). He was 20 at the time. He led a full life, but I hate seeing my friends die. You'll be missed. Attached is an intv I did with him for the also deceased Pukekos blog.
