someone please hook up the chunklet tour diary! just scan it in if you have a scanner, that would be just as good, i could host it somewher if needed be even..
i know its a lot to type otherwise...but this area we're at right now is kinda the definitive source for this, and it really should be here..

I will need someone to host the big ass jpgs that will no doubt result...or, if anyone has any decent OCR software, they could process the resulting pics into text, right? Brian

OK, I found the Chunklet issue in question - however, the binding is so stiff that it's impractical to scan the book as I'd have to hold it down throughout the scan (and the scan itself may take a good few secs because the font is soooo small and the res will have to be set high).
So, long story short, I'm gonna take the mag to work tomorrow, photocopy the pages and scan them tomorrow night instead.
You will all owe me for this :-)

Yeah, thanks for the effort Brian.
I've been searching for Fred Weaver's story since I first heard about it.

Hey Shawn - check your PMs on this forum for my download instructions...I'll be back on later tonight and tomorrow anyway...PM me if you need help getting them!
Rest of you - once Shawn uploads the scanned article, you can all enjoy it! Someone should definitely research free OCR software though, it would be cool to just have it in a pdf rather than jpgs.
If anyone has SoulSeek, I've shared them there too - my id is "brikelly" and they are in mp3/Don Caballero/last days article. If you can't get my file list, try searching for "don cab last days" or something.
See y'all Brian

Hey there, not promising anything, but I've got some ok if slightly temperamental OCR software which I can try using on the scans if you like. I work on an Apple mac though, so I don't think Soulseek works for me but if you want to email me the scans (either as jpegs or in an MS Word doc) I can have a go and see what happens.

Troutbot and Phase - I tried emailing you both the jpegs but your hotmail accounts must be pretty full, as they were blocked for being too big. I sent 3 emails, each with a 3Mb zip of jpegs attached. Oh well!

I'd like to encourage folks here to simply buy the Chunklet issue in question. In addition to publically championing Don Cab over the past 10 years or so, Henry Owings has done an amazing job with this 'zine --I think he deserves our support.
Go to chunklet.com (back issues section) -- it's issue #16.
