I think this thread was kind of touched on a while ago, but not very well, I think. I just kind of wanted to know what kind of experiences people have had with pedals as far as layering multiple phrases live. Is the Headrush the best, is it lame, is it great, should I try to get one via e-bay, or is their something better out there. What can it do, how does it suck, blah-blah...

if a "mofo" is asking other muthaf*ckas if they think using an akai headrush may sound too much like joey from the sitcom- "friends", that mofo may need too look for a different pedal too depend on. style is what parker posey knows. if u copy at least act like u

What I"m interested in is a pedal that allows for live creative recording, layering, and negation via a pedal. I'm mainly a drummer, but I play guitar, and am interested in live guitar manipulations and ease versus what somebody might have prepared.

if i remember correctly, the electro harmonix 16 second delay syncs to midi. has something like 4 minutes looping time, so i'm not sure why it's called a 16 second delay.

I've always wanted to experiment with drums and effects. The Boomerang is huge but it lasts forever, and does everything you described.

Yeah, I did find that amazing new digital Echoplex, but it costs around 1,500 to 2,000 dollars or something. maybe I'll find one lying in the street.

I just picked up a Headrush E2 for $100. I rule!
Of course, in the ten years that have passed since I first saw and heard a looping pedal in action (Ian Williams of Don Caballero at Club Soda, Kalamazoo, MI) every fucking math rock band, every fucking "coupla guys hunched over a pile of effect pedals" noise act, every fucking folk singer/songwriter in every fucking coffee shop fucking everywhere has discovered the joys of playing a sound into a machine and hearing it play it back to you over and over again.
So clearly, I've got some catching up to do.
