It's cool that people are listening to Songs for the Terrestrially Challenged and I can't believe somebody actually commented on a song from the album. I've seen Menopause-diaries on a bunch of year-end best song lists, and it just strikes me as a little weird that Life-like Homes never gets mentioned. That little epic/insecure building intro into that scream into that intensely savage/catchy/beautiful riff into that crazy fucking screaming/singing shit with the soaring contrapuntal vocals. That's a mind-blowing Speaking Canaries rock song. Signed, Fanboy

Ha ha ha, but isn't this what message boards are for?
I'm amazed when The Speaking Canaries are mentioned in any capacity.
You're right though, "Life-like Homes" is one hell of a song. Probably one of the biggest reason that "Menopause Diaries" is considered the representative song off of Get Out Alive is that most of the other tracks were previously released at some point. I've been listening to "Life-like Homes" since it was originally released on vinyl back in 1998.

I guess you're right about that. But I think me and you and the band are the only ones that own that album(Life Like Homes vinyl). That album was fucking amazing. Anyway that song rocks.
