I mean like, officially? This is my new favorite Battles album. I don't fast forward or skip any of the tracks. In fact I wish it was just a little bit longer, it's so good. From your standard Battles weirdness to near-pop songs to heretofore uncharted sonic territory and back again. I really like it a lot. A lot lot. ;D I hope they keep up the trend of having guest vocalists or other musicians on albums. It might make it a little harder to perform the songs live, I imagine, but it certainly fits into what they do very well and arguably gives a bit more freedom to just do whatever, which is what Battles is all about. I got a really good interview/article with John here, too: www.theskinny.co.uk/article/102250-battles-i-dont-think-quitting-ever-crossed-our-minds

Gloss drop is brilliant. Cannot wait to see songs from it performed live *crosses fingers. I like it a whole lot more than mirrored, it sounds more like their first two ep's without sounding the same as them. I missed that ep b/c feel to mirrored although it had some really good moments such as race in, tonto, leyendecker, tij.. Songs like ddiamond, rainbow and bad trails really didn't do a lot for me. Rolls Bayce is pretty much the only one from the new album that I can't get too enthusiastic about.

I saw footage of them at Glastonbury last night. They were using recorded vocals except for Ice Cream, Matias Aguayo (?) joined them.
