Shitty pacific kit with the wrap torn off, a ludwig kick pedal of some sort, 18" zildjian ZBT crash/ride, zildjian ZBT 13" hi hats.
EDIT: and a cowbell. The most important part of my entire set.

the last gig i played at, i used an old paiste 302 20" ride popped inside-out with four-inch holes drilled in it. i used it as a crash and it sounded absolutely useless. on an unrelated note, i had a look down that cymbalholic forum page and the member BRich looks suspiciously like me, except his beard is the wrong colour.

Hadn't noticed this thread before... That's a slightly out of date picture of my kit, I changed from stacking my steel piccolo on my regular snare to just a single brass piccolo and set up the maple shell where the keg was. The kit is a Pearl Export Select. Cymbals (Zildjian): 14" A Mastersound Hi-hats, 12" A Splash, 20" A Medium Ride, 14" A Custom Fast Crash, 14" Trashformer, 20" Oriental Crash of Doom (which I use more as a ride than a crash) Other stuff: Vibraslap II, Roto-toms, Pearl Powershifter Eliminator double, keg

I just found out about the Cymbalholic forum yesterday. Yeah, it's pretty great. Those cats definitely know what they're talking about. They're raving about obscure Turkish and Italian brands (Agop? Spizz? Johan?) with wit, intellect and infectious enthusiasm, while on the Tama Drum forum, 14 year old Slipknot fans are having a summit meeting to decide once and for all: which are better, Zildjians or Sabians? zach hill uses that 30" ride stagg came out with last year. he... crashes it. Un fucking sane. I've always wanted a gigantic ride cymbal, 24" or bigger. I was glad to learn on Cymbalholic that such cymbals aren't quite as uncommon as I once thought, and that 26" cymbals were mass-produced at one point. I've never heard of Stagg before, but I'd love to have a go with that massive 30" plate. If anyone knows of any stores in Michigan - hell, in the entire Midwest - that carry it, please let me know!

does anyone here read the wire? either way there was an article about some fella who uses weird looking homemeade cybals, but they're not homemade the same way as zach hill's stuff, they're properly forged and hammered and massive and odd shaped. anyone got any idea who he is or what i'm talking about?

what the hump is a vibraslap? It makes that sorta rattlesnake sound at the beginning of "Crazy Train" and "Sweet Emotion".
